Annual competition recognizes universities and colleges for outstanding app development in innovation, design, UX, and student engagement.
BOSTON, MA, November 03, 2022 – Modo Labs, creator of the leading no-code app building platform for higher education and enterprise, today published the winning campus apps in the 5th annual Modo Appademy Awards. This juried event recognizes colleges and universities that have built exemplary digital experiences in apps built with Modo Campus, Modo’s no-code app platform.
“Now in its fifth year, the Appademy Awards recognizes the innovativeness and creativity of campuses using the Modo platform, as well as reveals how higher ed institutions are expanding their digital engagement with students,” said Matt Willmore, senior director of product management at Modo. “This year’s entries reflect how college apps are becoming a one-stop platform for students to access all the tools, information, and services they use daily, with features to make school life easier.”
“Each year’s freshman class contains more digital natives who want and expect greater capabilities from a campus app. It’s exciting to see app development teams leverage more of Modo’s built-in integrations to make their campus apps more useful and engaging to these students,” added Willmore. “The use of personalized messaging, alerts, and digital wayfinding is also growing as a means to empower student to succeed.”

Here, the entire life of the app is driven by students, from ideas for what to include, to the content, to the design, development, and testing. This level of involvement ensures our app meets the needs of our students throughout their NAU journey. The Modo platform has helped us integrate more features, such as a digital student ID and class schedules, in response to student feedback. I’m excited for what we will develop next.”
